Hi there! My name is Ashley Tarnow and I am an Interaction/User Experience Designer and Researcher. I seek to improve the interaction between the user and the machine, more specifically web sites and internet applications. My goal is to design user interfaces so that the Guest can achieve their goals, make their purchase, or find what they are looking for without frustration and with complete satisfaction.

Holding a Master’s degree in Human Factors from California State University, Northridge and a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, I have extensive training in human psychology and behavior. My career focus and training circles around User Centric Design with an emphasis on Human Factors. Human Factors is the study of how human psychological, social, physical, and biological characteristics affect the machine in front of them. We then apply that information to the design, operation or use of products or systems for optimizing human performance, reducing human error, and promoting ease of use.

I understand that form and function do not always mesh, but I believe these two aspects of an interface do play integral roles in the user’s experience and usability of a website. I consistently strive to find the best of both worlds in order to produce the most appealing product in all aspects of the design.
